| Bio: | Name : Gilly Age : Old enough Occupation : Domestic Goddess and love kitten Location: Wales, UK Married, 3 children, 1 ladydog A bit of a sci-fi nut, but not really a mad 'shipper until the sizzling chemistry of Janeway and Chakotay hit me slap-bang-between-the-eyes in 1995/96. I really like all of the characters on Star Trek: Voyager, but these two REALLY fascinate me. I could watch them for days - and often do in DVD marathons. Every little nuance of their behaviour is sparkly treasure. I love J/C fan fic, graphics, videos, chat - anything J/C is sure to get my attention. When I'm not being a J/C tart, I like to take long country walks to the pub. I live on the coast, so there are lots of beautiful rambling trails near here, and they all seem to end at a country pub which is great. On a clear day I can see cars on the roads of Devon across the Welsh part of the Bristol channel. Music : Eclectic. I like most music if it's well done - anything from Opera to rap to New Country. Current loves are Josh Groban, The Dixie Chicks, Nickelback, Alison Krauss, Vince Gil, Reba McEntire, Dwight Yokam, Nickelcreek, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, The Mavericks, Mike & The Mechanics, Keane, Travis, Red Hot Chile peppers, REM, The Scissor Sisters, Gordon Haskell, Savage Garden (and Darren Hayes, solo), Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin... see, I told you. All over the place ;) Readings : Star Trek Voyager novels, but also a lot of fantasy like David Eddings books for example. I've also got 3 new ones sitting on my shelf for when I get the time to really get into them - "His Majesty's Dragon", "Throne of Jade", and "Black Powder War" by Naomi Novak. I've just read that Peter 'Lord Of The Rings' Jackson has optioned the film rights to these books because he loves them so much, so I can't wait to get into them. Dislikes : food that has gotten cold, bitter coffee, bigots, fans of any 'ship who seem to think they can validate their chosen 'ship by continually bashing the characters and/or actors involved in other 'ships : newsflash: It doesn't work. It just looks pathetic, and like they're intimidated by what they continually bash and make fun of. Is their own 'ship so dull and unexciting to them that they need the crutch of bashing whatever and whomever I enjoy in mine to make it all better? I have to wonder *wink* | |
